Medusa Rocks

For the Costume Party at the bar where I sing karaoke on Friday night I went as Medusa, and I have to tell you ... my costume rocked.  Having no source of income, I couldn't just go out and buy a costume so I had to do my own thing.  It took me all day Saturday to get ready, but I was really pleased with the results.  The costume didn't include a mask however, and I was concerned about sharing the photos.

Because I want to feel free to divulge any dirty little secrets that I deem blog worthy, I have chosen to remain incognito here on the blog.  Should any of my real life peeps happen across my little space here (highly unlikely) they may recognize their part in my stories, but they cannot claim that I've outed them to the world.   Neither would any potential employers be able to connect anything here with my legal persona.

Yes, it is quite possible that I'm just paranoid.  On the other hand as a wise man once said ...

"Sometimes paranoia is just having all the facts" - William S. Burroughs

I believe I've done it though.  I think I've found a way that I can keep the blog anonymous and still show you actual photos of me in costume.  Although the people that know me best might not be fooled, people I know only casually didn't recognize me when I walked up to them, so I think I'm safe.  If not, I'm just going to have to live with the consequences because I had too much fun with this outfit to keep it to myself.  Don't forget that with Medusa, looks can kill.

  1. wow, you look great. I understand your feelings about the blog, so i hope you stay anonymous :).Good to read you had a good time.
As for the Clematis you probably would recognize the flower, it is a Jackmanii . I assume this is a seed because that is what they turn in to at the end of the season.

  3. I’m glad you didn’t keep the photos to yourself, Sally. They’re excellent; you look fantastic!

I’ve been in trouble myself through people identifying themselves in my blog, so you’re wise to be cautious.

I could have loaned you a mask ;)

  5. Medusa does rock! I sympathize with the incognito thing... I just can't really manage it. I am too much of an exhibitionist. I don't use my first name, so none of my professional colleagues will run across me by accident, but I just can't seem to manage not sharing with people I like, so... for instance my neighbors know... which is weird... me being naked and all...

nice costume...rock on that you kept it low budget...looks like you were having a great time...which is far more important than how much you spend...

  8. Twain - Ah, it is the same one I was thinking of then. I haven't seen one after flowering so that makes sense.

Laura- No, I threatened to, but didn't actually turn anyone to stone, and didn't really want to.

Mask- I SHOULD have thought of that ... duh

Amber- I knew you probably wouldn't be able to make it on such last minute notice. Would have been fun though. We're there every Friday starting at 9 if you're ever feeling froggy.

Hart- I don't see much point in an authors blog being incognito, unless it was a pen name that you used for your writing too. This is just my personal therapy blog. When I figure out what to write for real I'll have to have another blog with my writing name ;)

Bruce- I try to appease the applause junkie in me with the karaoke gig. I LOVE the applause part, but I don't think I'd care to much for the being recognized on the street anyway.

klahanie- careful buddy, she can do that ... literally lol
