Let's Do Lunch ...
Thematic Photographic #120 see more interpretations of "Savor" at Written Ink
or perhaps it should read "Step into my parlor ...". Okay, I admit I know that this was probably the last thing you expected to see if you were going by the title or if you knew this weeks theme was 'savor' before you got here. But it is also just 9 days until Halloween and really, is there a more appropriate time for a Spidey shot? And I would argue that it fits the theme because I'll just bet she savored every last drop.
Spiders get a bad rap. This beauty is a common Garden Spider. They eat lots of the bugs that are bad for your garden or pests in your yard. Handy to have hanging around and they weave a beautiful web that sparkles like jewels in the morning when covered in dew.

Oh my gosh - I abhor spiders, and you're right, I wouldn't have expected this in conjunction with 'savour' - but what a really beautiful shot! Amazing stuff.
ReplyDeleteI’ve always been fascinated by spiders, and remember reading somewhere that, after mating, the female eats the male. Well, it beats a cigarette I suppose.

Hey, even spiders have to eat. Nice picture, and stuff. :)
ReplyDeletei love spiders!!
ReplyDeletetheir webs are fascinating...and beautiful in the dewy morning!
i don't necessarily want them crawling all over me...(and when i happen to run into one while wandering...i must look crazed as i try my hardest to brush off the clinging strands!!) but i do love looking at intricacy of them!
awesome shot!! really cool! :]
For some reason, I like spider. And I LOVE still pics of them. That shot is great!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteGot to agree. Spiders get a bad rap. I consider a spider an excellent way to wake up. I go into the bathroom, look at the gigantic spider in my bathtub and I'm definitely awake. Talk about 'shaking off the cobwebs' :-)
And besides, spiders have some of the best web sites on the internet. Great photo and fascinating posting. Thank you for commenting on my latest posting. It is very nice to get to know you.
In kindness, Gary.
So glad u knew about my Angel's trumpet... the seeds huh? dang, here I thought maybe the leaves were dried and rolled! lol....Love your interpretation... but was thinking of that old poem about 'the spider sitting down beside her...' poem....fantastic shot of that web...
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about spiders--they definitely have a certain beauty, and outside I love them, as they keep the bug population down. Unless...
ReplyDeleteSee, I am bad. I don't like BIG ones. Or UGLY ones. Or JUMPING ones... In the house the line where something is too big or too ugly shifts significantly, too... I tolerate daddy longlegs, but anything else... once it reaches the size of a dime, it is time for death.
Ok, I'll admit that I never expected to see a spider with the theme "savor", but when I read what you wrote, and thought about it from the spider's point of view, well, bravo!
ReplyDeleteSaid the spider to...anything he could devour, in a natural savouring manner! Beautiful capture of a true hunter!
ReplyDeleteI do hate spiders. In all their amazing glory. That pic is too close for me.
ReplyDeleteI have a spider living in my car wing mirror, it had so many little bugs stuck in its web this week I am expecting it to get too big for its home. I don't like spiders near me but through the glass it is quite fasinating.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. So close. It's hard to capture these creatures properly. I'm not afraid of bugs or spiders, but I know many people are. I think this one is lovely.
